In this blog, we're going to read about the activity that Oracle is doing to help the world organizing social volunteering activities and donation to nonprofit organizations to make a social impact.


  • Introduction:

Oracle’s corporate social responsibility centers on using its technology, people, and philanthropy to address education, health, community, and environmental challenges. The company reports annual giving of more than US$27.7 million to nonprofit and social-impact organizations worldwide in the fiscal year 2025 and highlights programs that connect employees, customers, and partners to community initiatives.

  • Talking about Oracle Environmental and Social Impact:

Oracle scope and priorities  is organizing its environmental and social work under a single Environmental and Social Impact framework that covers governance, workforce inclusion, philanthropy, and climate action. The company publishes regular reports and datasheets that explain policies, materiality, and progress against targets. 

Oracle philanthropy and people is to put the resources focuses  on education and health through its foundations and on workforce development via training and inclusion programs. These efforts are presented as complementary to the company’s product-led impact, helping customers and communities adopt technology for social good. 

Oracle sustainability commitment to mitigate climate change achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 and to halve Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions by 2030 relative to a 2020 baseline. These targets have been aligned with external initiatives and approved by climate-aligned partners. 

Oracle renewable energy and offsets is an important activity since Oracle reports progress toward 100% renewable electricity across operations and discloses interim coverage figures; for example, the company reported renewable electricity coverage at 91% in recent datasheets. Oracle also states it will limit the use of high-quality carbon offsets to no more than 10% of base-year emissions that cannot be eliminated directly. 


  • How Oracle Measures Progress and Governance?

Well this done via the reporting, assurance and operational levers.

In reporting and assurance Oracle publishes annual Environmental and Social Impact reports and datasheets that include goals, progress metrics, and governance practices. The company uses internal and external assurance processes for selected emissions scopes and discloses its baseline year and methodology for tracking reductions. 

In operational levers Oracle cites for meeting its targets include increasing renewable electricity procurement, improving energy efficiency across data centers and offices, engaging suppliers to reduce value-chain emissions, and deploying technology (cloud and AI) to help customers reduce their own footprints. 


  • What This Means for Stakeholders?

Well, for customers Oracle’s sustainability commitments aim to reduce the company’s operational footprint while offering cloud and enterprise solutions that help customers measure and lower their emissions.

While, for investors and partners means clear targets, external validation, and published progress create a basis for investors and partners to evaluate Oracle’s climate risk management and long-term resilience.

Finally, for communities, philanthropy and workforce programs complement climate action by investing in education and health outcomes, which can increase local resilience and social equity.

I hope you have a general overview of the activity that the company Oracle is performing, this wasn't a technical post blog, but it was a blog post that I feel like I have to write about it since everyone have to have a little bit knowledge about the activity since Oracle is a technology company and mostly we think that the company is doing only activity in the technology field without having any social impact, which is false and we have to correct our vision reading a little bit about those activity.
